“No matter what you choose for movement, it should be fun and not a chore"

I found powerlifting through my partner, Coach Christina, she invited me to meet her coach and see if I liked it. I got hooked. the idea that strength was not just for these giants on TV, but for people like me was crazy. I finally found a sport my body enjoyed and I felt so good doing it. It helped me get stronger and I was even able to recover through some injuries that I had from years before.

When I got into powerlifting, I was just hoping to maybe prevent some knee surgeries doctors warned me I would need as I got older. Well I'm older and now they are all saying I may never need them until I'm way older. I truly feel in love with the sport, and decided after my first 3 years of lifting to study all I could to become coach. After about 2 more years, I got certified and begin coaching full time. All through the journey, I thought it would be amazing to lift with more people like me, bigger bodies folks that just want to get strong and try something they have not been historically accepted in.

In 2020/2021 the work began to create All Bodies Strong. A place where being fat was not a negative, but a celebrated and refreshing positive.
